The Situation

I work at Rail Wheel Factory (earlier known as Wheel and Axle Plant) situated in Bangalore, India. It is a state-of-the-art plant, meeting bulk of the requirement of wheels, axles and wheel sets for the Indian Railways. The spare capacity available is profitably utilised to meet the domestic demands for non-railway customers and exports.

The website RWF we were working with was out-of-sync. It ran on obsolete technology and was the product of a medley of companies working on its design, maintenance and space output. Being the front face of the organisation, there was a need for structure and vibrancy in the website. It provided no avenues to record customer complaints or to facilitate web-based mailing.

The website suffered from the lack of structure so much so that it could not incorporate the directives of the CVC to provide for online download of tender notices and documentations. The site provided no facility to post the latest developments of the organisation online.

We, at Rail Wheel Factory, required a robust solution that would upgrade its website to include all legal and linking requirements.

We felt an immediate need to establish an ordered, up-to-date website, facilitating instant downloads of tender documents, employment notices etc., while providing access to details of the organisation, status of payments, product despatches and so on.

And that's how the search for a good webhosting company began...
